Hi! My name is Cori and I am a college student getting a degree in communications and media so I can blog, facebook, and tweet for a living! That sounds so much better than because I have nothing better to do and/or just love talking about myself! (Both of which are true though!).
So follow me as me and my big mouth as I survive college, being a nanny to triplets, and [try] to maintain friendships with my friends and family! It's a big world out there, and My Big Mouth definitely gets me in trouble from time to time....
Yeah! I received another award today, this time the Cherry On the Top award from Sofia at From PDX With Love!
The Cherry on Top Award’s rules are:
ANSWER: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?
PICK 6 people and give them this award. You then have to inform the person that they have gotten this award
THANK the person who gave you the award
HERE WE GOOOO…
ANSWER: I really cannot think of anything I’d change! I suppose I would say to take a language in High School, so that I didn’t have to take the round about way to get my language credits in! I’m a firm believe that things happen for a reason, and if I changed my past, I’d most likely change who I am today! So there ya go!
I don’t care if I ever get back, for it’s root, root, root for the MARINERS!!!!!!
Yep, this weekend I went to the Mariners game! I was lucky to be given A.M.A.Z.I.N.G tickets from Bruce & Mary who have season tickets! Jaime, Maddie, Amy & I all went and had an amazing time!! The weather was beautiful, the game was fun, the food was yummy, oh and did I mention we WON!!!
Did I mention….We WON??!!! Here’s Madison’s victory dance….(Don’t worry, the video is flipped when you watch it, just not in the preview for some odd reason!)
After the game was over kids 14 and under got to go on the field and run the bases! Madison was so excited to get to do so!! It was fun to be able to be on the field and run around with her, or should I say try to catch her!!
Thanks again Bruce & Mary for the tickets, if you ever need anyone to take them off your hands again, please let me know! XOXO!
Yesterday I went to the Evergreen State Fair with Aunt Sue, Jaime and the girls, Brandi and Xander. The weather was so-so, not super nice, but not pouring rain either – so I suppose I can’t complain! Never the less we had a wonderful time, it’s the fair how can you not?!!
We had a great time at the fair! We saw the animals, rode the rides, ate yummy food, saw the Alaskan Pig Races, looked at the craft bo0ths and walked and walked and walked! Nothing sends the end of summer, beginning of fall like the Evergreen State Fair!
Guess what?? I have a GIVEAWAY that will go along with this post in a few days!! So stay tuned to see what you could win! You definitely will want to come back to see and sign-up!!
Make sure you check out the Circus Bash!! blog post from couple days ago, it was the party of the year and everyone’s talking about it :-)
Today I’m highlighting the younger “twins” from each set, Connor and MacKenzie! If you missed yesterday’s post, make sure you check out the photos of Aiden & Annika!
Happy Birthday Connor and MacKenzie!!
This was a fantastic party!! It was a lot of work in prepping, but totally worth it in the end!!
If you missed out on the Circus Bash!! blog post a couple days ago, make sure you hop over and check it out!! Today I’m highlighting the oldest of both sets of “twins”…I put “twins” in quotes, because the boys are legitimate twins, the girls not so much…but they’re only 6 weeks apart in age so most assume they’re twins. So there ya go!
Happy Birthday Aiden & Annika!!!
Stay tuned for Connor & MacKenzie’s pictures tomorrow!!
I’m so excited to post this…this is my first REVIEW post ever and I couldn’t ask for a better one to start with, especially with the new school year just beginning!!
I had the wonderful opportunity to review Sesame Street eBooks, through their distributer, Impelsys! Over the past month, both myself and the kids I spend time with all had the chance to read many of the Sesame Street eBooks! It was fun to get to test Sesame Street eBooks site and read the books!! I was able to “test” the Sesame Street eBooks on three different kids, that are three different ages!
What is an eBook? “An eBook is a digital version of a printed book. When you read a Sesame Street eBook with your child, you can make story time extra engaging with bright pages, audio narration, interactivity, animation, and more. Best of all, Sesame Street eBooks are ready to read right here, right now!”*
The first kids I “tested” the Sesame Street eBooks were my nieces Emmalee (18-months-old) and Madison (4-years-old). When we first logged on it took us some time to learn how to navigate around the site, learn about the different eBook formats [see above] and pick a story to read. However, once we agreed on a story (that was probably the biggest problem, since there were so many to choose from!), both girls were absolutely mesmerized! Both sat with me for a long time reading eBook, after eBook! When it was time to stop, they both acted devastated; baby Emmalee even through herself on the ground in protest! Needless to say they wanted to read the Sesame Street eBooks again!
When was the last time you saw two little girls sit so still??!
8-Year-Old Reader
The next child I “tested” the Sesame Street eBooks on was Sophia, the 8-year-old sister to the triplets I nanny for. It was naptime for the triplets and Sophia had been bugging me to play on the computer, but she really needs to be reading and not playing on the computer. I quickly put two and two together, and realized she would enjoy the Sesame Street eBooks because:
a) she would get to be on the computer
b) she would be reading
It would be a win-win for both of us!
Sure enough, she loved helping me log on to the site, selecting that she wanted to read an eBook, the narrowing it down by genre (she chose Neighborhood/ People & Places) and then scrolling through the many book options until she settled on the eBook, I Want to be President.
Being the expert reader she is, she read through that book and couldn’t wait to pick another one to read. After reading a couple of Sesame Street eBooks, she wanted to try out an Interactive eBook, and gave Hide and Seek: Near and Far a try, which she loved as well!
Sophia loved the ability to not only be reading, but to be able to be on the computer, navigate the Sesame Street eBooks site and pick which eBooks she wanted to read all on her own! (Okay, so I sat there with her too, I didn’t want to be left out!)
4-year-old on her own
Madison by far loved the Sesame Street eBooks best. She constantly asks to go to the Sesame Street site and read the books, which isn’t a bad thing! She even learned how to “read” the Audio eBooks on her own. She loved feeling the independence of “reading” the Audio eBook by herself and getting to click” NEXT page on the mouse when we had it set on manual!
If you subscribe to the Sesame Street eBooks, you and your child can access more than 100 hundred Sesame Street eBooks at anytime, in the comfort of your own home!
I highly recommend this site to all “my” moms, I work with and know! This site is great for all ages, whether they are toddlers who love the bright colored pictures, the preschooler who wants to do everything on his/her own or the elementary school reader who wants a different type of media to read….everyone will love it!
Sesame Street eBooks offers FREE eBooks of the week for people to try them out!! Check out Sesame Street eBooks FREE eBooks of the WEEK and be sure to click the widget below!! I know you won’t be disappointed and will be subscribing for the year long membership in no time! I know I will be for “my” kids!
In order to do the review I was given a one month membership to Sesame Street eBooks. The review I posted above is completely and entirely my own personal opinion of the product I reviewed.
*Beware* this Wordless Wednesday post is jam-packed full of photos! I promise lots of pictures, with very few words!
This weekend was the Munro Kids Circus Bash birthday!! Alex, Julia and I worked none stop from Friday evening until the party started at 1pm on Sunday!! It went off perfectly, even if a ton of people showed up that didn’t RSVP, but that’s another story!
The Circus Set-Up
Alex & I blew up nearly 400 helium balloons!
Inside was set-up like a circus tent. We used tulle for the outer part of the tent and then a whole lotta crepe paper for the rest! It took Alex & I about 4 hours to get it all done! A lot of work, but looked awesome!
Julia came up with a way to set-up a game section! Looks pretty good doesn’t it! We had 4 games for the kids to play, they were all a hit!
Looking down at the Circus Bash!
Cake Time!
The cake table!
The clown cupcake cake, yes Julia made that! I did the writing on the kids individual cakes :)
Yep, those are cupcakes!! We cut marshmallows for the popcorn and then sprayed them with spray food coloring to give them a butter look!
1, 2, 3…BLOW!!!
Miscellaneous Pictures!
Girls going down the bouncy house slide!
Munro Family
Minus the boys!
The kids with the clown! Emmalee, Myself & Maddie walking!
I have LOTS more photos to share and will do so over the next couple of days!! So stay tuned :)
