Day 0 ~ Fort Lauderdale

Yes, I am only on day 0 of my trip!  We finally made it, the flights weren’t bad at all (for me).  The first flight from Seattle to Detroit was 3hrs 45minutes.  I slept the whole flight, don’t even remember really taking off!  It was wonderful!  Apparently I was the only one who thought it was great – no one else slept and have been complaining nonstop about the flight!

We landed in Detroit and headed to our gate (which was 8) and make it to our connecting flight at gate 73.  Luckily they have a cool sky train that zips you across the airport in 3 minutes.  We happily road it, not knowing it didn’t announce the stops.  Suddenly we realized we were going backwards and ended back where we began!  So once again we road it to the end of the line, but this time got out!  We made it to our gate as the end of the line was boarding the plane

As you can see in the above pictures, everyone seemed to sleep just fine on the second flight…even though none of them claim they were really sleeping!!

So….part way through our flight the flight attendants come on the intercom asking for any doctors or physicians on board to please come to the middle part of the plane.  Suddenly a couple doctors were up and the flight attendance were flying (haha no pun intended) up and down the aisle.  They had the oxygen tank and defibrilator out too.  Apparently someone passed out, but we didn’t know that until later on.  By the amount of movement (and we felt the airplane drop quite a bit) we thought for sure we were going to have an emergency landing to get the man off.  But he must have been okay because we kept on flying and landed in Fort Lauderdale safe and sound with all passengers and crew appointed for!  Made for quite an exciting flight!

We lucked out and were able to check into our hotel right away.  So we quickly dropped our stuff off and headed to lunch at Bamini Boatyard.  We ate out on a dock with beautiful boats surrounding us!  The weather here is quite brisk and chilly, so it was cold, but we just had to eat outside!  I was smart and wore jeans and a sweatshirt….other people, not so smart!

IMG_1309 Hi Madison and Emmalee – Mommy and Daddy are in Florida and tomorrow we are going to get on the very big boat. We love you very much and hope that you are making us a lot of pictures. Have fun with Camryn, Jordyn and Amy!!!

So now it’s 6:07pm and I am exhausted.  I slept maybe 4 hours last night, so basically have been up since 4:45am yesterday morning!  I’m already in bed, gonna order something to eat here in a little bit and think my lights will be out at 8pm!  If you don’t believe me on how tired we all are, check out this photo (yes she’ll kill me!) of Kelly taken at about 5:30pm!

Here We Go!

We are currently sitting at Sea-Tac waiting for our plane to take off!  It is here, we are on our way!!

This morning in preparation Grandma treated all the girls to mani’s, pedi’s and waxes at Oasis.  So we had a girls spa day, it was fantastic!  Emmalee got to come and enjoy the pampering too!  Madison had school today so she missed out!

Getting to the airport was quite the adventure.  There is 11 of us and about 25 bags, we had a whole bus to ourselves!  It was a nice ride having so much more room and we didn’t have luggage on our laps!

Our bus driver was hilarious, as we were leaving Duvall this truck with trailer did a huge u-turn and ran over the newly planted green grass.  Our bus driver cornered him with the bus and told him we had his drivers license number and was calling the police to report it.  I think the truck man was a bit shocked!

So for all the days I’m gone I am going to try and blog.  We’ll see how well that goes, but I want to post at least once a day!  Lately I’ve been using my blog as my journal, so I want to document the memories.  Plus I LOVE going back and re-reading my posts.  I will also end each blog with a message from Jaime & Zak to Madison & Emmalee.  So that is how my cruise blogging will go :)

Hi Maddie & Emma!

Mommy and daddy love and miss you!  We hope you are having fun with your friends.

Love, Mommy & Daddy

We have about 45-minutes until we board our flight, so the fun waiting game is now on!  We are on our way!  Here we go…..

More Splurges & Packing Finale

Ugh, I had already written this once then instead of clicking PUBLISH, I clicked DELETE….very annoying!  So here I go again…

Splurges

I showered myself with a few more splurges in preparation for the cruise.  All of these I actually needed *shock* so it wasn’t a total splurge, but still fun to buy!

I’ve been in search of a cute modest jean skirt.  Have you looked for one recently?  They are impossible to find, most of them barely cover your butt – not what I was looking for!  So I was excited to find this skirt at The Gap this past weekend!  Perfect for church and the cruise!

I have LOTS of big purses (you know the purses that you can never find anything in?).  Well that’s what I normally use, but I wanted something a bit more sleek for the trip.  I found this COACH wannabee at Target for $15, much better then the $150 price for a real COACH one!

No, I didn’t buy myself a new laptop (remember I fixed my problem by buying a new battery), but I did buy a sleeve to store my laptop in!  My laptop fits securely in the sleeve so I can put it in a bag!

Yep, I bought a new pair of shoes!  I thought I deserved a new pair for the cruise, and my mommy was nice enough to buy them for me!

Packing Finale

Yes, I have completed my packing…it probably didn’t seem like it when I started HERE, but never fear it is done!!

Tomorrow we LEAVE….it’s only been 423 days of waiting!!  I cannot believe it is finally here!!

New Do 2

After getting my hair cut on Saturday, I needed to get it dyed – my rootage was horrendous!  Anyway, I was too cheap to have Sorella’s do it, so I purchased a box from Target and had Alex dye it for me.  This was Alex’s first time EVERY dying hair, let’s just say we both were a bit nervous!

DSCN7494Not quite sure what to think about Alex dying my hair!

DSCN7495Uhhhh….Alex you are scaring me!

DSCN7496Shake, Shake, Shake – Shake, Shake, Shake – Shake that Bottle!

DSCN7497Alex seems to be having too much fun!

DSCN7499Looks like she did a pretty good job with the coverage!

DSCN7502Alex….stop taking self-portraits and get back to my hair!

DSCN7504The worst part of hair-dying is having to wait the 30-minutes before washing it out, so Alex and I played a game of Bananagrams to pass the time.

DSCN7506Then tonight, the after, I think she did a pretty good job!  Granted I didn’t style *gasp* my hair today, I was in triplet-ville where wearing your hair up is the best method!

Thanks again Lexi for dying my hair!  You did a fantastic job on my hair, I LOVE it!!

The countdown continues….   2 cruise

dresses, dresses, everywhere!

Bet you can’t tell we’re trying to pack for a cruise where we have several formal nights.  The last few days have been trying on dresses, running to the laundry mat and buying new dresses to replace ones that don’t fit.

We have dresses hanging EVERYWHERE in our upstairs, especially in the hallway.  We have clothes hanging……

Thinking it may be time to start packing these dresses, but I hate the thought of having to ball them up and shove them in my suitcase.  There will be lots of ironing and steaming when we arrive.

Bon Voyage Brunch

This morning our family got together to celebrate Valentines Day and of course toast the arrival of our cruise!  Everyone came over around 9:30am and my daddy made a delicious breakfast of Egg McMuffins and Eggs Benedict, croissants, sausage and hash browns.  Plus yummy fresh strawberries and pineapple.

Emmalee says….bon voyage

Happy Valentines Day!!

A New Do: A New You!

This morning I went to Sorella’s and got my haircut!  I am very happy with the result!  I chopped off several inches and then the stylist thinned it quite a bit!  Can’t wait to try flipping it out a bit to see what that looks like!

DSCN7470DSCN7471

Another check off my list of things to do!  I also did a bit more shopping for the cruise.  I think all I have left to buy is a new pair of walking shoes.  I pulled out my suitcases and did some more packing as well, slowly getting there!

Tomorrow morning we are having a Bon Voyage Breakfast with the family….it also happens to be Valentine’s Day, but really we are celebrating our vaca!!  Wahoooo!!!
