A Day With Gabbi, Nate, Jack & Sophia

I spent the day today at the Harrington's while Mark worked and Kim was out of town. I showed up at about 10:15am to kids that really wanted to go to the park. So I got the triplets dressed and ready to go and then we jumped in the Navigator (wasn't about to walk...to lazy!) and headed to the "green park".

The babies are getting so big now - I remember when I would take them to the park (last spring) when all they would do was EAT THE BARK! Gabbi and Jack will go up and down the slides and Nate enjoys wandering around the top of the climber. I took some pictures of the babies playing at the park, Sophia ran into her friend Hannah there so she was off playing with her so I didn't get any pictures of her.

I made 'nanny pay' today in exchange for cleaning out the triplets drawers and organizing. So I was busy during nap time, but it was nice to get them re-organized!! After nap the kids and I just played and hung out until Mark got home. Fun day - but I must be 'out of shape' watching them because I am EXHAUSTED!!

Feeling Icky...

I was up almost all night with my ear hurting, I finally fell asleep about 215am. Trying to fall asleep I read an entire book, 2 magazines and counted sheep - nothing was working. Woke up this morning and still am not feeling well - throat is hurting. I hope my antibiotic kicks in quickly, because I am miserable!!

Sicky Thursday

After fighting a nasty cold the past week and a half, I woke up this morning with a horrible ear ache. So I finally decided to go to the doctor and get it checked out. I found out that I have an ear infection in my left ear and a sinus infection. So I got a prescription for zithromax and hope I start feeling better soon!

This morning and early afternoon I worked on homework for my UFDN class. I got 1/4 assignments done that I missed while I was in Disneyland. My goal is to complete one more tonight and then the final 2 I'll turn in for Monday. But I got a good start, so that's good!

After the doctor, I went over to the Harrington's to give Kim and Patti a break. The babies needed baths so I gave them a quick bath and helped them get ready for bed. The babies were happy to see me and Gabbi even said "CORI" so that was cute! Made my day!

Friday tomorrow and am HAPPY for it to be the weekend already!

Home

We got home about midnight last night from a FUN FUN FUN trip to Disneyland!! It went by so quickly and we did so much! I have to say I don't have a favorite memory that I can think of!! The closest I can pick would be Zackery getting soaked on Splash Mountain and Brandi & I getting really soaked on Grizzly Peak!!

Madison was a trouper even though most of the trip she ran a fever and was drugged with Tylenol. She had a lot of fun despite that!! We even lucked out and she'd sleep in the stroller during the day - so we never had to go back to the hotel for her to rest! We got up really early (often up and out of our hotel room by 730am) and would get home really late (after 9pm).

Brandi took more then 1,000 photos, and I took some videos that hopefully I will get a video up this weekend! But unfortunately I am back into school mode already with a test tomorrow that I gotta get through! *YUCK*. So stay tuned for more vacation stories!

Deju Vu

The last couple of days, I've been working for the Harrington's. Jaime hung out with us a bit over the last couple of days and brought "baby Maddie" (aka Emmalee, but Gabbi calls her Maddie) over. We took a few pictures of the babies with Emma and taking those pictures brought back the memories of Madison being the 1-year-old holding the new babies!!

Where's Waldo?? (Or Erin)

....or at least Erin thinks she is!! John Muir Elementary was featured a couple days ago on King 5 news, because of their Disability Fair. The disability fair is actually a really cool concept ...

"Imagine a silent world. What would it be like to have a hearing impairment? What would it be like to know exactly what you want to write, but you just can’t get
your hands to form the letters.

How would it feel to be a little different from everyone else?

Children at John Muir Elementary School in Kirkland, Wash., don’t just have to use their imagination. They got to experience what it’s like for some of their classmates through a fair brought to the gym in their school."

Check out Erin in this clip...or see if you can spot Erin in this clip - John Muir Disability Fair from King 5 news!

hint: Erin appears at 1 minute, 13 seconds, look to the LEFT and you'll see her back!

Mission Accomplished ~ Nursing Application IN!

Okay so I DID IT!! I turned my application in today!! Now I wait!!

Thursday, February 12, 2009

So Close....

I'm putting the finishing touches on my application. I have now printed out the actual application, and am just doing final edits on my essays (thanks Brandi & mom!). I'm getting really anxious now about submitting it and getting in.

I met with my nursing advisor yesterday and she warned me that my gpa was 2.94, and not the 3.0 that they normally accept. I got up this morning and called Shauna Miner who tutored me for awhile to ask her to write a reference for me. You have to understand that I haven't talked to Shauna in like a year and a half since she moved. So I had to call her out of the blue and ask her to write a reference for me that was due TOMORROW! Shauna came through for me and by 4pm she had an amazing reference for me!! THANK YOU SHAUNA!!

I also got awesome recommendations from MARK & KIM and JULIA! Thank you guys for all your support and time you have given to me!!

I have a couple of pieces of the puzzle left to do tomorrow.
  • I still need my mom to read one last time through my essays (she's down in Palm Springs),
  • print them and add them to my application
  • print my cover letter for my references and attach it
  • pick up my reference from Shauna in Redmond
  • close the envelope and seal it with a good luck kiss!!

Kim had a bright red manila envelope for me to use, so my application should stick out!! Almost done!!

My Own Little Corner of the SPU Library - PART II

It's the day before another test so I am once again sitting in my cubby (if you want to read about my special cubby check it out here - My Own Little Corner of the SPU Library - January 14, 2009. However, someone was in my favorite spot so I had to pick another cubby - HOW RUDE!! Thought I'd share a picture of just how crowded it is ...

Okay I have wasted enough time, I should probably get back to studying now!

When It Rains It Poors....

or should I say SNOWS! What's with this weather - I'm tired of it! I have way to much to do this week, to deal with snow on top of the rest of my crap!

This was totally a 'down' day, I've been angry since this morning - apparently I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Nothing went my way, so that stinks.

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day (and the snow goes away), so I can go to the library and study for my UFDN test on Wednesday.

Friday...Friday...I NEED to make it until Friday...

Louie, Louie

Today, I got to go and pick up Louie the dog with Julia and the kids. The place we went to pick up the dog was in Kent so it took us almost 2 hours both directions to get their from Camano. We spent 3 hours waiting for this darn dog to arrive, but he finally came and we headed home.

We met Erin at the Olive Garden on our way through Totem Lake then headed back to Camano. We got home and it was already bedtime for the kiddos, so Julia & Erin played with Louie. I provided support! I got to admit, Louie is a really good dog and he hasn't barked yet!!

Here are a few pictures of Louie. Erin makes a couple cameo's in the photos. She was playing with Louie and on a couple of times jumped up on her...it was hilarious! To bad I couldn't catch it with the camera!!

Here is a funny video of Mackenzie cracking up in the car!! She is hilarious!!

Friday

This morning I headed over to the Harrington's to see the kids. It had been a couple of weeks since I'd been over so they were excited to see me. Gabs ran right up to me and wanted to be picked up as soon as I walked in the door. As soon as I walked into the family room the boys made a mad dash for my lap and hung out there for the rest of the time I was there!! They are talking up a storm and were excited to show me all of their legos. I spent a lot of time taking apart and putting together blocks. It was a great visit!

This evening I am up on Camano to spend the night and hang out with them tomorrow (and to get my reference done!). Apparently they are getting a dog tomorrow - grrrrr...what's up with this!! Ugh...totally not a dog person! So we're going down to Kent tomorrow to pick up the dog. Even though it involves getting the dog - I'm excited about the 'road trip'! That should be fun!!

Have a great evening!

Bathing Beauties

Tonight Madison was excited to show me how she and Emma take a bath together. So I thought I'd embarress them when they get older and take some video. Wasn't planning on posting it but Jaime said "can't wait to see it on your blog" - so I did!

Nursing Application 101

Okay so I am like 75% of the way through my application. I have completed 3/5 essays and like 90% of the 'fill-in-the-blanks" of the actual essay. I still need to get an official transcript from BCC and then my references from Kim & Julia!! Slowly but surely making progress!! The deadline is February 15th, so I still have time but am still ready to be done!! Tomorrow I hope to finish my last two essays and then go to BCC to get a transcript (and beg and plead for one ASAP!). This weekend I am going up to Camano so Julia can do my reference, and I just need to hear back from Kim that she'll also write one for me!

I'm chuggin' right along! The good news is, I have taken all the required pre-reqs (or will by summer) and my GPA is right where it should be!! Hoping, Hoping, Hoping!!

Flemmer Family Fast & Success in Primary!

My Grandma Plane (aka my mom's mom Grandma Flemmer), last week was diagnosed with some type of cancer in the blood. The doctors think they caught it early enough and are positive that it should be easily removed. She has to undergo chemo, and if I'm right in the form of a pill? She went in for tests last week and we should have more information on Wednesday. Yesterday, was fast Sunday and our whole extended family had a fast to pray for Grandma. I hope that everything is okay and that she can beat the cancer quickly and with very little pain.

Yesterday, i debuted my Star Chart for my primary class and I have t say it was a success! Those kids will do anything for an Ice Cream Party...I think at the end of the month I may need to make it harder to get stars or maybe they'll have to wait longer (like 2 or 3 months instead of just 1), because at this rate if I don't, I'll be throwing parties for them every month! They got a total of 18 stars yesterday and were proud of themselves!!

I had very little talking and fidgeting during class time, since we have sharing time first, I couldn't really penalize them for being loud/destructing during it, so they all got stars but starting next week...

Sharing Time: I will give each of them a CTR shield at the beginning of sharing time, and I will take the shield from them if they need reminding to be reverent. When we get to class if they still have their shield I'll give them a star

Class Time: They each get CTR written by their name on the board, if they get warned for being loud, distracted, etc. I'll erase one letter. If all 3 letters are gone by the end of the class time, they won't get a sticker. If they still have letters left they can have a sticker. I only had 1 child lose 1 letter...and boy were they well behaved! We did watch a movie, so maybe that had something to do with it!

I'm excited to see how next Sunday goes, and if this week was just a fluke or if it will work from now on! It definitely was easier to teach without them being so wiggly!!!
